The Joseph Bologne International Violin Competition celebrates the legacy of Joseph Bologne: a trailblazing 18th-century composer, virtuoso violinist, and conductor whose contributions to music history and violin technique were pioneering, and who remains a symbol of excellence, advocating for racial and social equality. Held in Guadeloupe, France, and hosted by the Festival International de Musique Saint-Georges, the competition offers emerging violinists the opportunity to showcase their artistry, compete for prizes, perform with a live orchestra, and help establish their career on an international stage.
